Workshops

If you’d like to progress on your photography journey, take more creative images, or to use your camera as a tool for wellbeing: I can offer you a session where you’ll feel at ease and able to experiment as a photographer. Choose from a personalised, one-to-one approach or bring a friend along… or why not join a group of like-minded souls for a gentle photo walk?

Workshops can be tailored suit your requirements, so please get in touch if you’d like to discuss your ideas.

Photography workshop: DSLR confidence

If you have a DSLR but feel you’re scared to leave the Auto setting, I can help you take the next step into Manual mode - you’ll never look back!

A one-to-one workshop means you can ask questions and learn at your own pace; together we’ll build your confidence so you can take control of your camera - and achieve better results. Photography is so much more fun when you get creative!

I’ll show you the basics, including exposure, composition and focus which will inspire you to build on your skills, and start a love affair with both photography and your camera.

Photography workshop: Florography

Florography - the art of botanical photography - is something deeply absorbing and often magical; throughout the year there’s so much to see.

Why not join me on a one-to-one workshop where we’ll head outdoors and practice some visual storytelling? We’ll capture the poetry of growing things: plants, flowers, leaves, fungi, mosses, seed heads… and cover various aspects of photography such as composition and focus in relation to the subject matter.

We’ll also take some indoor shots, experimenting with light and texture, to capture the beauty of our finds.

Guided Photo Walks: Refocus, Reframe

Photography can be a very effective way to foster mindfulness. It’s not always about the end product; often, the process itself is just as valuable.

Slowing down and taking the time to consider your surroundings in more detail will encourage you to seek out those little ‘flashes of delight’ - the things we might normally miss whilst we’re distracted by daily life.

A gentle walk with like-minded souls here in the Calder Valley (or, occasionally, beyond!) will provide plenty of opportunities to get curious, take photographs and find the beauty in the everyday.

Dates and locations for photo walks will be released throughout they year, and will appear on Instagram and the website.
